Date: August 22, 2009
Sponsor: Tour of Utah
Distance: 96 miles
Org: USAC/USCF sanctioned
Web site: www.1000warriors.com

Description: Five hours before the Tour of Utah pro racers leave on “The Hardest Stage of America’s Hardest Stage Race,” 1000 WARRIORS (Cat 1-5, Masters, & Citizens) will leave on the same course (Park City to Snowbird, Utah). If the winning Warrior beats the elapsed time of the Winning Pro, they’ll get not only the glory but the pro purse ($1000). Proceeds from entry fees go to support the Tour of Utah. IN ADDITION, Marines wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq are using this race as a rehabilitation training goal and will be our guests. As each Wounded Warrior crosses the finish line, the announcer will read that soldier’s Purple Heart citation. Riders and bystanders can contribute to a Wounded Warriors’ Children’s Scholarship Fund, with the GUARANTEE that 100% of their contribution will go toward those scholarships WITHOUT MANAGEMENT OVERHEAD normally associated with most other charities.

The race flyer as well as a SEVEN MINUTE VIDEO OF THE COURSE FROM LAST YEAR are on the Web site: www.1000warriors.com
